Our guest speaker is a child and adolescent psychiatrist trained at the Mayo clinic. He is a potential member as well as he has heard great things about Rotary from his wife's uncle in Taiwan who is active.
Scott kindly prepared a powerpoint discussion regarding the cheating culture in American Education using the recent North HS incident as a jumping off point. Informative and well delivered.
Gov. Ravi announced that the next world President of Rotary International will be visiting our area on  February 18 at Ravi's invitation. It will be a gala dinner that may include the Ambassador of Japan. Gold Coast Club will be hosting along with two other Clubs and proceeds will be donated to the Gold Coast Club Foundation from which the Club makes many grants.
Details will follow.
Nov 5 is our day to make an official visit to the Great Neck Food Pantry at which time the Club will donate clothes that is sold from which they buy provisions for needs GN residents. Club member Lisa and her husband are major supporters and will greet us. If you cannot show up personally on Nov 5 plse drop off bags on a Fri mtg or e mail Secty Jay who will pick up and store what you can give. Childrens clothes that you may no longer need for your family is an item they seek.
