NO MTG Dec 25 and JAN 1....next MTG Jan 8!!!!

Danielle
Polland is an 11th grader at GN North and is President of Action For
Women Club at the HS. This is an umbrella organization for two
Foundations : Fistulla Foundation (www.fistulafoundation.org) and AFYA (www.afyafoundation.org).
In addition she is involved with Special Olympics in our area.
Afya is a 501c3 charity that distributes medical supplies and humanitarian provisions to Africa and the Caribbean.
Danielle
requests us to support her Afya activities and the Club will discuss
this early next year. The Club is always pleased to see a a HS student
helping to make a better world.
Kids
day out..a great hit..around 50 needy kids in Westbury School District
spent a day with Gold Coast Club at 2 museums,enjoyed Imax movie,lunch
and T shirts and goody bags. Thank you Manny for the idea and funding!!
Next Kids Day Out pencilled in for late January with kids from Brooklyn.
Nice
pictures and thank you note from Tony D'Urso who is building a home in
Nicaragua for improverished villagers that will be named Gold Coast
House when it is finished in honor of our contribution to his bridges
to community (www.bridgestocommunity.org) project.
Lynn working with John to obtain more publicity for Club's activities via submitting articles and pictures to local paper.
