Meeting Notes - Feb. 19 2010

Attendees: Emma, Chris, Lynn, Doug, Mike and Ed. Guest: Karen Signoracci Suera - Member, Mineola Rotay Club Lynn subbed for Secretary Jay who is in Japan. Old Business: Our Wine-Tasting Fundraiser on the 12th was a big success. Thanks to all who worked hard to pull it together in a relatively short period of time. WE ARE A GREAT TEAM!!!!!! We received a card and letter of thanks from the Westbury School children that participated in our Kid's Day Out Event last December 4th. Guest Speaker and fellow Rotarian Karen Signoracci Suero, who represents Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Moriches, spoke to us about the summer camp, which was founded in 1946. Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a sleep-away camp for children with special needs, from the ages of 6 to 21, that is owned and operated by the Moriches Rotary Club. It offers a seven week program and can accomodate between 300-400 children each summer. Karen is currently visiting Rotary Clubs in both Nassau and Suffolk County to provide information on the camp and ask Rotarians if they know of any children who could benefit from the program. ******DISTRICT GOVERNOR RAVI'S HOMECOMING******** The Club finalized details and assigned tasks for the March 4th Homecoming Event. We believe it will be a great event with great fellowship, and hope that all members of Gold Coast will attend to show support for Ravi. We are the host club and are committed to throwing a fantastic party that all District 7250 members will not forget! We have advised all District Rotarians that we must receive payment in advance of this event, as seating is limited and we don"t want to have to turn anyone away at the door. ****GOLD COAST MEMBERS**** PLEASE MAIL YOUR CHECKS TO CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION!!!!!
