Thank you John for
submitting the article to the Great Neck Record about our SH scholarship
student. John will give us more details about the midnight run charity
event.
He introduced Melissa who
will be working with 3rd and 4th graders in a Robot Club that will
include John's HS team as mentors. In addition to technical skills, this
will be great for interpersonal relationship building. The Club has
provided a Lego Mindstorm Kit which is a great way to introduce robotic
skills to 9 and 10 year olds.
Gov. Ravi asks us to circle
Feb. 18 when the President of Rotary International will visit with us
and two other Clubs for an evening at Crest Hollow Club. Ravi has
already lined up major donors to our Foundation which will enable
significant global projects to proceed with Clubs in Nicaragua, India
and Africa.
Dennis described the
Rotaship project that he ran at JFK Club where Rotary Clubs can ship to
other Clubs items at cost which has been used during humanitarian
crisis.
President Mike's friends have donated
the big bags of childrens clothes today to the Great Neck Food Pantry.
Next week we have penciled in a visit by Kathy Priven of the Food Bank
to describe how we can help them even beyond what we have so far
donated.
We are all enjoying Ed's book and will schedule him as featured speaker at an upcoming meeting when he will sign our books!!lAttendees:
Mike, Jerry, Ravi, Ed, Dennis, Jay M, John, Doug, Clarisse, Jay S, Emma
Guest: Melissa Diamond, Saddle Rock Elementary School
