Congratulations Doug on a
successful Bar Mitzvah of his eldest son Thomas. We heard he got a
standing ovation after he read his prayers.
We celebrate the publication
of Ed Casey's book "Tales from the Granite Orchard". Each member will
soon receive a gift copy from Secretary Jay who requests you make
comments on the Amazon website so it can reach #1 slot soon.
Conratulations to Jesse and Yanick..we hear they will soon be proud grandparents!!
Thanks to Joel and Ed who
are unable to attend Food Pantry day Saturday but have given Club
Secretary 9 bags of clothes to deliver on their behalf. Dennis pledges
to bring 10 bags and on that basis got to ring the bell at todays
meeting!! Well done guys.
Excellent presentation by
guest Renee Almon who is a longstanding friend and collegue of the
Gourdet family. She thanked the Club for past support which allowed
Brookdale Hospital neighbors to receive 257 Thanksgiving baskets last
year. She noted all who are involved are volunteers of the microbiology
lab. We will alert the two Brooklyn Rotary Clubs to contact her if they
wish to support this activity in their area. We presented her with a
check for $800.
