Thanksgiving Baskets:
 
Each basket is $50 and will feed the needy in the area of Brooklyn around Brookdale Hospital where Jesse and his wife run the labs.
The Club has jointly collected $1,500 and Manny has generously pledged $1,000 so we can meet our goal this year of providing $2,500 for this project.We will provide Jesse with a check this Friday Nov.13.!!
 
Thanks to all who have raised funds and to Ed for his fundraiser letter and Manny who has enabled the Club to hit its goal.

Mike, our webmaster, has established a demo website (www.clubrunner.ca/goldcoast). The Club has approved First year costs of $700 and second yr $ 400 and we anticipate including more pictures and material as we develop the site moving forward. Well done Mike!!
 
"Kids day out"project:
 
Manny has proposed the Club host a day out for needy kids to give them some uplift in outlook and attention. He has offered the Club $5,000 to cover expenses for this project. Clarisse is in touch with kids in Brooklyn and Emma with kids in Westbury. Jay with the Museum.
 
We propose to host approx. 50 kids from each area at the Cradle of Aviation Museum including a lunch and IMAX film. Our first target date is Dec. 5.
Final budget details to be presented this Fri at the Club mtg.
Also seeking chaperones from the Club for that day.

UN Day: Sat Nov. 7, Jay chaperoned our two HS Youth Exchange Day students (from Brazil and Italy) at a special UN day for Rotarians.
Many teens from around the globe presented their charity projects.
 
Paul Harris: Congratulations to Pres. Emma and IPP Clarisse for receiving Paul Harris Awards at the Foundation Dinner. Club goal is a 100% Paul Harris Club.
 
Foundation Dinner: Outstanding success...11 attendees from our Club. Well done Gov. Ravi !!!
 
Tony D'Urso...made a presentation that impressed all members of the Club. He, at the age of 70, joins with other executives and student volunteers to build single room brick houses in Nicaragua. Each house costs $3,500. His charity is called www.bridgestocommunity.org.
The Club has pledged to raise funds for one house over the next three year period.
 
Duffle bags: we are exploring providing 100 duffle bags to Lutheran Social Services for their foster care project and another 100 to "kids day out" kids.
 
Presidential Citation: The Club will seek a Presidential Citation for the term of Pres. Emma.
 
Haiti: Jesse has proposed supporting the Haiti Rotary Club in their desire to establish a "mess hall" for kids who are lucky to have one good meal a day. Over time, the budget will be $3,000 from Gold Coast Club then we will seek help from our District and perhaps RI itself.
 
Lynn M will investigate whether we can participate next year in an interfaith breakfast in our area.
