Gold Coast Food Packaging Event 2022

FOOD PACKAGING EVENT on 3/19/22
The Rotary Clubs of Gold Coast, Great Neck, and Manhasset are partnering with The Outreach Program to package 10,000 meals to send to food banks in Nassau County. Funds are needed to pay for the product and shipping expenses. We are raising money and recruiting volunteers to help package the meals. The suggested donation is $20.

This event is the perfect venue to bring family and friends to join in an unforgettable experience. An Outreach Program event is a festive, hands-on opportunity to roll up your sleeves and feed the hungry. The meals are packaged, sealed, and distributed to the food insecure locally and internationally. Participants are deeply changed by spending just a two hours to help feed hungry and food-insecure people.

Gov. Donno visits Gold Coast Club

Gov. Donno discussed some intiatives he is undertaking to make Rotary better known to the wider community. He has created a TV show to be broadcast on Chnl 55 "Everyday Heros of Rotary" and has suggested that Motch and his robot project will be featured in future programming. He reminded us that Rotary began as a networking organization and encouraged us to remind members that there are 2000 Rotarians on LI which  may be a source of networking. He is compiling a list of Projects and Donations of all the Clubs to be maintained by the District to publicize the positive impact of Rotary to the Community.
Gold Coast Club provided the Gov. with a booklet highlighting various projects and plans for growth. Though small in membership number (17) the Club has had an outsized impact engaging in a  number of very impressive projects over the past 6 yrs. In addition, the Club has had many members actively support the District in a leadership capacity over the yrs.
We thanked the Gov and Asst Gov for their visiting with us to exchange ideas.
